Project title : Ecological Marathon

Activity area : Culture and education of children and youth, transmission of the memory of the Chernobyl disaster.

Implementation place : the Stolin district ( Stolin, Rechitsa, Belousha, Struga).

Target group : pupils, preschoolers, tutors, teachers.

Project duration : 1 year

Objectives : Development of new ecological culture of living on the contaminated territories. Development of practical radiological culture among children and youth.

Project implementation/Activities: acquiring radiological safety skills and preserving the environment by children and youth in the affected regions; providing young people with scientific and practical knowledge about the world around us; developing the necessity of constant interconnection with nature and forming appropriate nature treatment skills.

1. Ecological forum "Nature and Nation in Danger"
2. Action contest "My Little Motherland"
3. Ecological education of children in the process of studying and using nature
4. Arranging volunteer groups` work
5. Project "Green Home"/"Stadium"
6. Project "Ecological summer"
7. Final seminar "To live on this land:"

It is planned to bring about close cooperation and partnership with all the projects of the CORE Programme, which are implemented in the Stolin district: "Healthy Motherhood", "Agricultural and economic development of the affected districts", "Methodological and Information Support of Radiological Education".

Expected results : Understanding the laws of nature that provide for continuous life in biosphere. Acquisition of necessary skills of survival by the human being in the situation of ecological crisis, and solution of a number of social problems in this context.
