Topical project: Project news  

Project title: Visit of the group of Belarusian pupils to Lithuania

Activity area: culture and education of young people from Belarus, preservation of the memory of the Chernobyl catastrophe.

Implementation place: Chechersk district of the Gomel region (Belarus), Palanga, Vilnius (Lithuania)

Target group: Senior form pupils (15-17 years old) from Chechersk district, Gomel region

Project duration: October 30 - 9 November, 2004

Project aim: Rehabilitation of young people affected by the consequences of the catastrophe in Chernobyl NPP and purposeful holidays in Lithuania

Objectives:

  • Interactive learning through discussions on problems that people are facing in the radioactively polluted areas in Belarus;
  • Rehabilitation of young people affected by the consequences of the catastrophe in Chernobyl NPP
  • Fighting with consequences of social exclusiveness by involvement to project activities.

Project implementation/Activities:

  • Selection of the participants by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Lithuania in Belarus in the Gomel region;
  • Preparation of the visit of the group of Belarusian pupils to Lithuania (logistics);
  • Rehabilitation and interactive learning in Lithuania;
  • Project evaluation.

Expected results:

  • Improvement of health status of the young people from Belarus;
  • Improvement of the knowledge of the pupils
  • Increased personal abilities of the young people from areas affected by Chernobyl disaster to cope with consequences social exclusiveness;
  • Creation conditions for the further contacts between young people of Lithuania and Belarus.
