Project title: Preservation and strengthening of physical and psychological health of pre-school children from the kindergarten "Ryabinka"

Activity area: Health care and surveillance

Implementation place: thekindergarten "Ryabinka", the village Krasnoye of the Bragin District

Target group: teachers, children and their parents

Project duration: 1 year

Project aim: The purpose of the project is to preserve and strengthen the health of children, upgrade the radiological knowledge of parents to a new level, and raise radiological awareness of pre-school children by opening a medical rehabilitation centre on the premises of the kindergarten in the village Krasnoye.

Objectives:

  • Expansion of the range of medical, physical and rehabilitation services that help preserve and strengthen health of pre-school children;
  • Development and implementation of effective methods of promoting healthy lifestyles with children;
  • Consultations for parents on how to teach their pre-school children to live safely in the radioactively contaminated areas.

Project implementation/Activities:

Activity 1. Refurbishment of the kindergarten premises for installation of the medical rehabilitation centre;

Activity 2. Supply of all the necessary medical and phys-ed materials, medical and sports equipment;

Activity 3. Supply of the demonstration equipment and materials for the educational activities organised by the centre for children, parents and teachers;

Activity 4. Training the kindergarten personnel in how to operate the new equipment;

Activity 5. Development and testing of effective technologies, programmes and methods for medical rehabilitation of pre-school children, and awareness-raising sessions for children and parents;

Activity 6. Creation of the Sunday Club for parents.

Expected results:

  • Children enjoy conditions that help preserve their health and develop them both intellectually and physically;
  • The sickness level is reduced, and the general state of health of children is improved;
  • Children have basic knowledge about nature, human interaction with the environment, and personal hygiene;
  • Children have acquired basic practical skills of safe behaviour in the radioactively contaminated areas;
  • Stronger ties between teachers and parents, and greater role played by the family in the process of practical radiological education.
