Project title: Creation of pupils' club for practical radiological literacy

Activity area: Culture and education of children and youth, transmission of the memory of the Chernobyl disaster; Radiological quality

Implementation place: Bragin secondary school

Target group: pupils and teachers

Project duration: 1 year

Project aim: The project is aimed at promoting a qualitatively new level of radiological culture among pupils. We also plan to involve senior pupils into the project.

Objectives:

  • Elaboration of a new educational programme by teachers and pupils;
  • Creating materials and technical basis for the course of radiological literacy;
  • Discussing the issues and ways of improving the existing situation;
  • Working out a manual on healthy way of life on the contaminated territory;
  • Sharing the experience with other educational institutions in the district.

Project implementation/activities:

  • Creating material and technical basis for the project;
  • Working out the educational programme and curriculum for the course;
  • Formation of the groups of pupils, willing to participate in the course;
  • Conducting classes and taking actions according to the curriculum;
  • Working out, publishing and dissemination of the manual on healthy way of life.

The project will interact with all CORE Program projects implemented in the district, especially with TP "Implementation of an inclusive radiation monitoring system in the Bragin district";

Expected results:

  • A higher level of radiological and ecological literacy among the children;
  • Acquisition by the children of deeper knowledge about the impact of radiation on human body;
  • An increase in the number of children managing safe living on the contaminated territories;
  • Publishing and dissemination of the manual on healthy way of life on the contaminated territory;
  • Sustainability of the course;
  • Holding workshops and debates on promotion of the radiological culture and healthy way of life among the population of the contaminated areas.
