Project title: Creation of a local radiation control club Activity area: Radiological Quality Implementation place: the village Voznesensky, Chechersk district, Gomel region Target group: the schoolchildren and the countrymen Project duration: 1 year Project aim: The project is aimed at the improvement of living conditions of the affected areas population by providing the possibility and availability of the regular daily radiological quality control of food products. The schoolchildren of all age groups will be involved in realization of the project; they will participate in the quality measurements of food products, grow seedlings and plant greenery in their home village. Objectives: - Creation of a local radiological laboratory in the village and the quality control of the food products consumed daily;
- Dissemination of the messages of health living and nutrition in the contaminated areas using the measurements made by the created local radiological laboratory;
- Construction of a greenhouse and cultivation of flower seedlings and vegetable plants to provide anyone interested in consuming of such production with high quality plants;
- Planting the cultivated seedlings of flowers for the arrangement of the territory of the village Voznesensky and the neighbouring villages.
Project implementation/Activities: The successful implementation of the project will allow the local population to be aware of the quality of the daily consumed self-made food products, to know and to use various methods of radionuclide reduction in the food products. - Creation of a local radiological centre in the village;
- Dissemination of the measurements results and radiological control messages among the population;
- Production of vegetable plants and flower seedlings of high quality in a hothouse.
The project is supposed to cooperate with the topical project implemented in Bragin district (priority area - "Radiological quality") as well as with the leading scientific institutions of the republic in the sphere of radioecology. Expected results: - Improvement of people's health, lowering sickness rates.
- Familiarizing of schoolchildren and youth with radiological protection culture.
- Putting in order and arrangement of the territory of the village Voznesensky.
